Protecting the Alpha Husband Chapter 12

Chapter 12
Chapter 12
*

After filming started for You Yan’s new drama, he was basically shuttling between the set and the hotel.

I only saw him during pickups and drop-offs.

Of course, he kept sending me video calls during breaks, all of which I ignored.

It didn’t dampen his persistence at all—every time he got in the car, he’d scoot right up next to me.

I knew he was pretending to be tired and leaning on my shoulder just to sniff if I had someone else’s scent on me.

I couldn’t be bothered to call him out on it. After all, we’d only done it a few times—his possessiveness was a bit much.

My phone buzzed in my pocket. It was my mom.

I never take personal calls during work, but I hesitated—what if it was something urgent? So I answered.

Her loud voice blasted through the speaker.

“Uncle Li next door introduced you to an omega. She added you as a friend—accept her! I’ve seen her photo, she’s beautiful!”

I frantically mashed the volume button, but it was too late.

The temperature in the car dropped to freezing. The silence was deafening.

I mumbled a few words and quickly hung up.

Sure enough, a friend request popped up.

Before I could even tap the message, my phone was snatched away.

You Yan’s long fingers tapped the screen and hit “decline.”

I glared at him. “What the hell, You Yan?”

I tried to grab my phone back, but he held it tight.

“What gives you the right? You’re just my boss—you can’t control my personal life!”

“Liang Sen.” You Yan looked up, and for once, he actually looked hurt. “You slept with me, and now you want to sleep with someone else?”

I stared at him, almost laughing in disbelief. “Who slept with who here? I was the one being slept with!”

The driver, sensing the tension, bolted from the car. Damn, I forgot to raise the divider.

You Yan didn’t seem to notice the awkwardness, just kept going.

“All those times… you never felt anything?”

I wanted to sew his mouth shut.

You Yan might be a liar, but I’m not.

I met his eyes and said honestly, “I did.”

His eyes lit up.

“But I don’t trust you anymore.”

The light went out instantly.

You Yan panicked.

“My feelings for you have always been real.

“The CP fanfics—I commissioned them, hoping it’d help us break the ice. When it didn’t work, I took them down.

“There really were stalker fans, but the building handled it early. I used Fu Mo’s interest in you as an excuse to bring you home. I just wanted to be near you, not do anything else. The susceptibility period was an accident.

“I’d already imagined living with you so many times—that’s why I kept all those supplies…”

I raised an eyebrow. “That’s it?”

You Yan hesitated, then unlocked his phone and handed it to me.

“And… I wrote our official relationship announcement two months ago. I was just waiting to confirm things before posting.”

I glanced at it, getting goosebumps from the sappy words. I started to wonder if he’d written all those steamy fanfics himself.

“You really dare say anything, huh? Wait—why is it gone?”

I swiped the screen, and the long post disappeared before my eyes.

“Um…” You Yan said slowly, “You just tapped ‘post.’”

I froze. The phone started vibrating with notifications—too late to delete it now.

You Yan, now completely unfazed, took the phone back, loosened his collar, and leaned in.

“Liang Sen, I want to review some things with you.”

“Damn it, weren’t you just asking about falling in love?”
