Kana charged at Ivy Qin.
At the same time, I ran toward Kana.
She probably never expected someone like me to get involved.
My chest hurt—a small knife was stuck in it, but it hadn’t hit anything vital.
I forced a smile and gripped her hand tightly, not letting her pull back, even pulling it in deeper.
Gritting my teeth, I gave this demon girl a taunting smile:
“Hope you enjoy your life in prison.
“As for Ryan Lee, I’ll make sure he’s happy.”
All those nights of practice weren’t wasted—my calculations were spot on. I even managed to spit a mouthful of blood right in her face.
The crowd around us started to panic.
But what surprised me most was
Ivy Qin, dressed in an elegant princess gown, suddenly ripped off her skirt and moved with the agility of a movie assassin.
She sprinted over and delivered a flying kick that knocked Kana to the ground.
Several undercover police officers rushed in and pinned the struggling girl.
Ryan caught me, half-kneeling, carefully cradling me in his arms.
His eyes were red.
When I tried to speak, blood welled up at the corner of my mouth. “Oh no, you’re crying.”
Ryan wiped the blood away, scolding fiercely, “Shut up. Say one more word and I’ll kiss you.”
I struggled to breathe. “Ryan, do you still like me?”
He lowered his head, kissing me again and again on the top of my head.
I felt something warm and wet drip onto my cheek.
“I do.”
“Lily Wang, from the first time we met until now—
“You’re my favorite.”

After major surgery, I was in the hospital for almost a month, so lazy my bones felt soft.
Ryan stayed by my side every night. Ivy said that when the anesthesia wore off and I didn’t wake up, Ryan got so anxious he almost fought the doctors.
Ivy peeled an apple for me. “Wow, sis-in-law, with you as my cousin’s girlfriend, his life is complete.
“But honestly, you really took that knife for nothing.”
Me: “Huh? Why?”
Ivy grinned. “My brother asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend right after graduation. He said it would force Kana to make a move.
“We set up a whole trap, just waiting for her to take the bait.”
I was stunned. “Wait… but doesn’t Kana read Ryan’s mind?”
Ivy clicked her tongue. “Yeah, that’s why my brother even learned to drink, so she couldn’t hear our plan.”
He managed to overcome his alcohol allergy?!
That’s insane—what a price to pay!
I glanced at Ryan with renewed sympathy.
Ryan shrugged it off. “I just threw up after drinking, then drank again. Compared to your stab wound, that’s nothing.”

Ivy finished peeling the apple.
Ryan snatched it and took a big bite.
Ivy snapped, “I peeled that for her, are you crazy?!”
Ryan replied, “She doesn’t like apples.
“You still have class—aren’t you leaving?”
Ivy was furious. “Fine, Ryan, just remember this! Don’t come to me for help again!”
Ryan started peeling an orange for me.
He smirked, “I wouldn’t come to you even if I had nothing else to do.”
Ivy flipped him off and stormed out.
Later, I found out Ivy had enrolled in the police academy.
Her dad was a cop, and she’d trained in boxing, Sanda, and taekwondo since she was a kid.
So when Ryan asked for her help, she agreed instantly—and was even excited.
She said she hadn’t had a chance to beat someone up so openly in ages.
She even joked she could beat the crap out of that girl.
Of course, it all had to wait.
Ryan chose to study law because he wanted to personally send Kana to prison.
But he had to wait for her to attack again.
That’s why Ryan couldn’t be with me, and couldn’t tell me anything.
