She risked everything to make a pact with a demon chapter 04

Back in my room, Lin Feng’s cold tail suddenly wrapped around my legs.

He glared at me, looking a little hurt. “I’m coming with you tomorrow.”

He must’ve overheard our conversation.

“No need… It’ll be super boring. Just stay home, okay? I’ll bring you some human snacks.”

Lin Feng shook his head, then pulled me onto the bed with a gentle tug.

His cool breath brushed my neck. “No way. I’m going.”

“Or I’ll bite you!”

I quickly covered my neck, remembering our first encounter.

“You can’t kill me—we’re bound together, remember?”

Lin Feng bared his fangs, threatening to bite down. “I don’t have to kill you to make you suffer. I have plenty of ways to play with you!”

Under his threats, I had no choice but to agree.

But he still wouldn’t let go, clearly annoyed that I’d tried to refuse him.

I didn’t understand why he was so insistent on coming.

“Qi Liao is super boring… Tomorrow’s going to be a drag.”

Lin Feng’s tail thudded irritably against the floor.

“If it’s so boring, why are you going?”

“I…”

“You can’t even answer that, can you? Well, I’m going.”

He turned away, but I saw his cheeks puff out a little.

A bold thought crossed my mind. “You’ve never lived among humans before, have you? You’re just curious.”

“Pfft, no way.”

“Then you just don’t want to be apart from me, right?”

“Argh!” Lin Feng bit my shoulder, making me yelp in pain.

“Okay, okay! You can come with me tomorrow.”

Only then did Lin Feng let go, licking his lips before waving his hand and turning off the light.

“Wh-why’d you turn off the light?”

“It’s too bright. How can you sleep like that?”

“You’re going to sleep? Then I’ll go make up a bed for you on the floor.”

I was about to climb down when Lin Feng pulled me back.

“You want me to sleep on the floor? Do you know who I am?”

I blinked innocently. Was I, the master, supposed to sleep on the floor instead?

But I didn’t dare say it out loud.

“Well… I’ll sleep on the floor. You’re new to the human world, and you must miss your ice bed.”

Lin Feng didn’t reply. He just pulled me to the inside of the bed, using his broad body to block me from getting out.

“Enough. Shut up and go to sleep.”

“Okay.”

That night, I had a strange dream.

I dreamed I was clinging to the edge of a cliff, with a bottomless abyss below me.

Just as I was about to fall, a golden dragon flew down from the sky. I called for help.

The dragon glanced at me, then used its power to shove me off the cliff.

I woke up in a cold sweat, heart pounding.

Lin Feng was still sleeping soundly beside me, his heavy tail draped over me, making it hard to breathe.

The dream left me uneasy and drained.

“Why are you awake?” Lin Feng had been roused by my movements. He opened one eye and looked at me coolly.

I hugged his cold tail to my chest and shook my head. “I just had a nightmare…”

Lin Feng seemed interested. “What kind of nightmare?”

I hesitated, looking into his golden eyes.

“We’re bound together. If I’m ever in danger… would you save me?”

Lin Feng looked away, quietly straightening his clothes. “Yeah.”

After we got ready, we headed to the café where I was supposed to meet Qi Liao.

On the way, we saw many beast tamers with their demons, all getting along harmoniously. It made me a little envious.

But then I remembered that Lin Feng was a thousand-year-old snake demon, not like those ordinary demons. That thought made me feel a bit better.

I squeezed Lin Feng’s hand. How did I get so lucky?

“What are you grinning about?” he asked.

Embarrassed, I shrank my neck, but then I felt a chill in my palm.

“You’re not thinking about meeting that handsome beast tamer, are you?”

“No way! Qi Liao… just thinking about him makes me want to puke!”

“Hmph, you’d better mean that.”

Just then, my eyes were drawn to a white-haired man walking toward us in the café.

He wore a black robe, and a white snake was coiled around his shoulders.

The man’s aura was completely different from ordinary people.

Excited, I tugged Lin Feng’s hand.

“That guy must be a really powerful beast tamer! Look, he’s got a snake demon too, right?”

Lin Feng stiffened when he saw the white-haired man and his snake, quietly shrinking behind me.

But I was too focused on the white-haired man to notice Lin Feng’s reaction.

To my surprise, the man walked straight toward us.

“Hey, Mei Chen!”
