This trip was all about debt collection.

Apparently, the guy owed the company thirty million yuan and had been dodging payment for a year.

Not that he couldn’t pay, he just refused to.

“Sorry, President Bai isn’t in,” the receptionist said icily as soon as we arrived.

Lin Wen frowned. “When will he be back?”

“No idea.” She went back to her nails.

I was instantly annoyed.

How come a receptionist at a deadbeat company is more carefree than me?

“Let’s go,” Lin Wen tugged at my sleeve.

I shook him off and turned to the receptionist. “One minute. I want to see Bai... Bai what?”

“Bai Zhou,” Lin Wen supplied.

“Right. Fifty-six seconds left. I want to see Bai Zhou.”

The receptionist snorted. “Who do you think you are? You think you’re worthy of seeing President Bai?”

I spun around and slapped her.

“This is a notification, not a request.”

Lin Wen was stunned. “Why’d you hit her?”

“Ahhh!” The receptionist screamed and called security. “Someone’s causing trouble and hit me.... Throw her out.”

Four or five security guards rushed in.

Lin Wen jumped in front of me. “Wait, we’re leaving.”

“Leave?” I yanked Lin Wen aside and glared at him. “We’re here to collect a debt. What’s there to be afraid of?”

“I’m standing right here. Let’s see who dares touch me!”

My words echoed through the lobby.

The guards exchanged nervous glances, frozen.

Lin Wen was dumbfounded. “Can you actually fight?”

“Nope!” I replied cheerfully, rolling up my sleeves. “But if they try, they’ll regret it.”

The guards backed off.

“Let’s go,” I told Lin Wen, dragging him toward the elevator.

He shook his head in disbelief. “They actually bought it.”

“Guess I need to beef up our company’s security. With staff like this, we’d never survive a robbery.”

I nodded in agreement.

The elevator dinged open.

At the end of the hall was Bai Zhou’s office.

“Whatever you do, don’t lose it in there,” Lin Wen whispered nervously. “Bai Zhou’s rumored to have mob connections. He’s...”

Before he could finish, I pushed open the door.

Bai Zhou was there in a tank top, flip-flops, and a gold chain, total wannabe gangster look.

I walked in, met his stunned gaze, and said, “So you’re Bai Zhou?”

He blinked, put down his teacup. “Who are you?”

“President Bai!” Lin Wen rushed in, shooting me a glare. “I’m Lin Wen from Rising Dragon. We’re here to...”

“Lin Wen, huh?” Bai Zhou slouched back, smirking. “I told you, there’s no money. Why keep pestering me? Your company going bankrupt or something?”

Lin Wen’s face darkened. Any boss would be pissed hearing that.

Me too, and I’m not even the boss.

I grabbed the teacup and splashed it in Bai Zhou’s face.

“Thirty million, right? Now it’s forty million with interest. Transfer it to Rising Dragon’s account. This is an order, not a negotiation!”

Bai Zhou jumped up, furious. “You......”

He stopped mid-sentence, eyes darting over me in terror. He gulped.

“F-F-Forty million, I’ll pay”

He whipped out his phone, hands shaking, and transferred the money.

A few minutes later, Lin Wen’s phone buzzed. Payment received.

“Pay your debts on time next time, got it?” I said, wiping my hands.

“Got it, got it!”

Lin Wen was still in a daze.

Even as Bai Zhou escorted us out, he hadn’t recovered.

At the airport, Lin Wen finally asked, “Why did he listen to you?”

I said, “Tsk. You’re overstepping, man.”

Lin Wen: ... ...

“Fine, I’ll tell you the truth.” I turned, patted his shoulder. “My dad’s the richest man in the country. I wake up every day on a ten-million-square-foot bed, our family estate covers thousands of acres, I only travel by private jet, own hundreds of companies, and every year for my birthday we set off a few nuclear bombs for fun...”
