My husband met a highly compatible Omega Chapter 4

Chapter 04
Chapter 04
*

After making my decision, I left the hospital and called Wei Shen to arrange the medicine delivery again.

No one answered.

Just as I was about to turn off my screen, a message came from an unknown number:

Yan, you lost. Wei Shen belongs to me

The messages came with a string of URLs. Without hesitation, I deleted them all, but to my shock, the sender, Shi Han, went mad, blasting over ninety-nine unread texts in a row. Seriously crazy, Shi Han.

I frowned, ready to blacklist him, but accidentally tapped on one of the links it loaded instantly, and what I saw made my heart sink:

The Wei Corporation and the Shi Family have reached a deep cooperation agreement.
Wei Corporation publicly announces the termination of all cooperation with the Lu Family.
Chairman Wei openly declares that Master Shi, the young heir of the Shi Family, is a remarkable match.

I took a deep breath, closed the webpage, and opened the stock trading platform. The Lu Family’s stock price was plunging, about to hit the daily limit down. In stark contrast, the Wei Corporation and Shi Family stocks soared, hitting the daily limit up.

My phone rang. It was my father.

"Tomorrow is the shareholders’ meeting."
"Your Uncle Wei and the others are betraying us; they want to replace the executive director."
"Don’t worry. If it comes to that, our family can just take the dividends and retire early."

I gritted my teeth in reply, "Fine."

As if I could really be indifferent. The Lu Family company was my father’s entire life’s work.

Our family held 47 percent of the shares. Uncle Wei owned 18 percent, other major shareholders combined to 30 percent, and 5 percent were dispersed shares. We had long-standing cooperation with the Wei Corporation, and the shareholders had always supported my father steadily. But now it couldn’t continue like this.

I clenched my fists and kept calling Wei Shen’s number. The missed calls on my phone jumped from twenty-nine to seventy-two, each one accompanied by a top-pinned public announcement of our divorce, done entirely at his discretion. How could I forget the custody and public timing clauses were all laid out clearly in that agreement.

The Lu Family’s stock plummeted to the daily limit.

Silent, I returned home and scrambled to gather cash to buy back shares, but by market close, I had only secured 0.3 percent. Holding my restless son through the night, I braced for the worst.

Yet just before leaving in the morning, the normally obedient little one suddenly became insistent.

"Papa, can you take me with you, please?"

I crouched down to comfort him, but he grabbed my arm tightly.

"Daddy said that since he’s not around, as the only Alpha in the family, I have to take responsibility and stay close to Papa to protect him."

I was stunned for a moment, then gently took his hand and we headed out together.

"Alright, Papa will take the little bodyguard with me."

At the company, I settled Yunqing in the resting room. But barely had I turned away than a little tail clung again. He pulled open his backpack and stuffed several papers into my hands.

My eyes widened.

Wei Shen voluntarily transferred 4.7 percent of Wei Corporation’s shares to Wei Yunqing.
Date: August 10, 2076

That was ten days before his heat cycle erupted.

Suddenly everything became confusing. But with the shareholders’ meeting about to start, I had no time to dig deeper. I took the share transfer documents and rushed to the conference room.

Under Uncle Wei’s leading faction of sullen shareholders, my father succeeded in preserving his executive director seat.

I hurried back to the lounge, eager to call Wei Shen to thank him. But before I could dial, Assistant Zhao’s call came through.

"Madam, Wei Shen is in trouble. I haven’t been able to contact him since he returned to the family residence yesterday afternoon."

I wanted to say no matter what, I’d force my way in to bring him back. But the words caught in my throat.

What right did I have? And I knew too well why Wei Shen was missing. It was obviously his father’s doing to matchmake him with Shi Han.

I hung up coldly.

Behind me, my father’s voice broke the silence.

"Yan, I’ve contacted a security firm. Would twenty Alpha bodyguards be enough?"

What?

I pointed at myself in disbelief.

"Dad, I divorced Wei Shen. He’s about to...."

Before I could finish, my father handed me an agreement that stunned me into silence.

The first page was a letter of guarantee Wei Shen signed three years ago. Brief but clear: he promised to treat me well, love only me, and if we divorced, he would leave with nothing.

The second page was a 27 percent Wei Corporation share transfer agreement, effective as soon as I signed.

I closed the pages calmly.

"Add twenty more bodyguards. We leave now."

This time, I was going to find Wei Shen myself and get some answers.

After finishing the call with Assistant Zhao, I led the group straight to the Wei family residence.

But before we could breach the iron gate, an ambulance sped through.

I slammed the accelerator, following closely.

When I jumped out, I saw Shi Han being carried out by servants, convulsing.

My heart jumped and I hurried upstairs, only to be stopped at the elevator by Wei Shen’s father and his men.

"You’re the jinx that made Wei Shen disobedient," he snarled.
"Don’t you know only AO pairings are perfect? You Betas should just die."

His eyes were bloodshot and wild. It was clear there was a backstory, but I had no interest in digging into it now. I had less time for that, more to find Wei Shen.

Coldly, I signaled behind me, and the bodyguards surged forward.

Assistant Zhao added fuel to the fire.

"Chairman Wei, I’ve publicly exposed the Shi Family’s tax evasion as per Wei’s instructions."

He almost ran out of breath delivering this.

Seizing the moment, I ripped away the cane from Wei Shen’s father, dropped it on the ground, and bolted into the elevator while he staggered.

I ran to Wei Shen’s door and knocked fiercely.

"It’s me, Yan. Open up."
